2018 is the year the world comes together to celebrate the centennial of Leonard Bernstein (1918–1990). As a composer, conductor, educator, and humanitarian, Bernstein is regarded as a singular figure in American cultural history. The Immaculata Symphony is thrilled to share a sampling of his works for stage and concert hall with music from Candide, On the Town, and West Side Story. We also welcome back percussionist Ralph Sorrentino performing a work for solo snare drum and orchestra. Also included in the program is the iconic Appalachian Spring composed by Bernstein's friend and mentor Aaron Copland. An exciting concert to end our 2017-2018 concert season!
