76 Years of Philanthropy for Children
Keynote Speaker: Geoffrey Nagle, PhD, MPH, LCSW
"LOUISIANA'S RISKY BUSINESS: The First Three Years Last Forever"
Brain architecture: how the growing brain builds on experiences
Playing games: the role of early childhood experiences in developing executive function and the connection to college success
Local data on risk and reach in Louisiana: the realities of the state budget on resources for young children
Dr. Nagle is Director of the Tulane Institute of Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He has worked closely with state government leaders to build a system of high quality early care and education. This advocacy has resulted in Quality Start, Louisiana’s child care quality rating system; the School Readiness Tax Credits; and new laws that create an Early Childhood System Integration Budget.
Dr. Nagle has made numerous presentations around the country on topics including building an early childhood system, designing a state early childhood budget, and the economic impact of child care.
On-line registration available through December 1.
There is no charge for the celebration, but we do need a head count for lunch.
