This Friday, IMF (in collaberation with WHCL) is excited to present our fall concert in the barn. We can't wait to see you there. Tickets are free for Hamilton Students and 5$ for members of the surrounding community.
ABOUT THE BANDS:
WYDYDE is a basement grunge rock duo from Western Mass. Their music is charged, messy, and full of life. Their EP, released in 2015, bridges ideas of rock and punk. Lyrically they tug at the relatable and emotional experiences of young adults in 2016. As they sing, "I wanna be of value/I don't mind failing at all/I wanna be a part of you" in their song Do I Need Water, they capture the anxiety and frustration of finding a place and recognizing your own possition in a relationship, in a community, in society at large.
Hadley Fire is available to stream or download on their bandcamp
GUERILLA TOSS is an art-rock band out of NYC. Initially formed when thr group studied Contemproary Improvisation at the New England Conservatory of Music, their music, raucus and energetic, is inspired by both beauty and tragedy. Both No Wave and modern, GToss infuses the sounds of Funk and Disco to produce music noted for it's "solid bass grooves, squealing guitars, and kitchen sink percussion" as well as the incredible spell cast through their lyrics and the voice of lead singer Kassie Carlson. Named one of ten great modern punk bands by Rolling Stone, Guerilla Toss may be a great listen through headphones or in your dorm room, but they are best known for their lively and entrancing live shows. In describing them, Rolling Stone says, "Above the racket, Kassie Carlson yowls prophecies like a wizened, Krautrock priestess, transported from the next millennium." Each Guerilla Toss show features a unique setlist and jamming influnced by both punk and bands like the Gratefull Dead. Their most recent album is Eraser Stargazer, released on DFA in 2016.
Some Notable Recognition:
-2014: Nominated in the Boston Music Awards for “Punk Artist of the Year”
-2016: Listed by Rolling Stone as one of the “10 Best Modern Punk Bands”
Eraser Strargazer (and their 3 other studio albums and 7 EPs) are available to stream or download on Spotify, iTunes, and their bandcamp
