Lofi artist Iman Omari comes to The State House with New Haven's own Stout and The Revolution and Brooklyn native Cavalier!!

About this Event

Iman Omari

A Los Angeles native who later operated out of New Jersey, he made inroads through work with Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, and Mac Miller. Around the turn of the 2010s, he began to issue a prolific quantity of his own material. His higher profile releases, and numerous download-only projects, include the Energy EP (2011), the MoRuf collaboration Euphoria (2012), (Vibe)rations (2013), Samadhi EP (2014) and High-Loops & Higher-Loops (2015). The song "Omari's Mood" from Omari’s 2015 release was used during the beginning of Lamar's February 2016 performance at the 58th Grammy Awards. During that year, Omari helped Produce Cavalier's Lemonade. Presently, Omari has released his latest effort, IHY LP (2017) via his own imprint Vibe Music Collective.

Stout and The Revolution

An artist, born and raised in New Haven , CT- began her musical endeavor at the age of 3- in her great grandmother's basement church. She began playing the drums for church service, and later, began singing in the children's choir. Her passion for performing, became a constant motivating force.

She went from performing at local church concerts, musicals, and services - to landing a job as a backing vocalist for Alicia Keys from 2003-2006.

She has toured the world with Alicia Keys, which allowed her to share the stage with, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Carlos Santana, Missy Elliot, Gwen Stefani, Usher, Lenny Krantz, John Mayer, and more.

She has performed on legendary shows like OPRAH, The MTV Video Music Awards, The Billboard Music Awards, The Grammy's, The Dave Letterman Show, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Ellen, Good Morning America ,and more!

In 2015 she released her debut album "Awakened" under her former artist name “Denise Renee”. The album charted #11 on the Billboard Gospel Charts.

In 2016 she began performing ,vocal directing and contracting, for the multi-talented -Childish Gambino. She has performed on :

Jimmy Fallon, The 60th Grammy’s ,Radio City Music Hall ,and more with this incredible artist , and the work continues !

In 2017 she joined Cory Henry and The Funk Apostles- and the STOUT, revolution began! She’s been touring the world with this band , spreading the love, freedom, and electrifying music.

In 2018 Stout released her debut single “Queen” (written, arranged , produced by the STOUT - with co production by producer/artist, Dane),and has been generating buzz.

Her live performances have been imprinting ,the heart and soul of audiences across the U.S. and beyond. She leaves her heart on the stage.

She launched her first solo tour in 2018. The tour has been across the East Coast, LA, and ITALY. She is gearing up for the next leg of the tour for the summer of 2019!

Her debut E.P. is set to release the summer of 2019!

Cavalier

Cavalier is an emcee, Hip-Hop adept, urban chief and cultural dapifer. A native to Brooklyn, New York his influence as a performer and artist have found reach locally and globally. He has shared top billing with Little Brother, Homeboy Sandman, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Joey Badass among others.

A dynamic powerhouse of a performer and lyricist, Cavalier has been quickly becoming a choice favorite among Hip-Hop loyalists and alternative music fans alike. His seminal release, CHIEF, boasts a strong production line up and collaborations with Raekwon, Quelle Chris and Iman Omari. Cavalier has been featured on VIBE, EgoTrip, Ebony, XXL and the LAWeekly along with feature appearances on BoilerRoomTV.

Paul Bryant Hudson

Paul Bryant Hudson is a Connecticut based singer-songwriter. Grounded in culture and identity, Paul actively channels energies from periods of BLACK cultural and creative enlightenment, fusing them with contemporary hip hop and soul components. These cultural values are prominent in his references and tributes to African American music, literature, and folklore.
