Description

Join us January 22 at 7pm PST for Imagining a New Map at REDCAT in Downtown Los Angeles!
(Doors open at 6:30)

Imagining a New Map forum asks: How do we co-create a future located in our understanding of the past and actions now? And how does cultural equity show up in your work? Together we can build connections and resources in community with others to change our landscape. Featuring singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, Chicana altaristas Ofelia and Rosanna Esparza, violinist and social justice advocate Vijay Gupta, visual artist Jazmín Urrea, an excerpt from Dahlak Brathwaite’s Try/Step/Trip and more! In partnership with the Alliance for California Traditional Arts, Imagining a New Map forum will feature participatory conversations and artist projects that fundamentally shift how we perceive place, people, and culture.

Hosted by REDCAT, Imagining a New Map forum is part of the third and final REMAP: LA activation by ArtChangeUS. To learn more about REMAP: LA and view other offerings, including Cultural Community Benefits trainings and Participatory Arts Workshops, please visit our website!

Forum 7pm-9:15pm. Reception to follow.
