3D printing for 3rd-5th grade
This series will teach students how to create systems or compositions of elements that have to interact or work together using Autodesk Fusion 360. Students will create 3 different designs and will have the opportunity to 3D print 1 design upon completion:
3D PRINTED TABLE BASKETBALL - Students will learn how to create a table basketball set. They will learn how to create different elements that need to be properly dimensioned to work and interact together. Step by step, the students will be lead through the creation of the hoop, the basketball, the catapult and they will be taught how to set each dimension in a proper way.
3D TABLE BOWLING - Students will learn how to create a bowling set. Starting from one of the pins, they will be taught how to create a repetition for the other elements and how to dimension the ball properly.
3D TABLE SOCCER - Students will learn how to create a fun finger soccer set. They will learn how to define dimensions for the elements that have to be used with fingers and how to define the proportion of the other elements to work properly as a set and system.
Please be mindful when registering for this program. No refunds will be granted unless the spot can be filled by another child on the waitlist. Refunds within one week of the start of the course will incur a $25 processing fee.
Waitlist will be handled in order until 24 hours before the event. At that time if a spot becomes available, the entire waiting list will be notified at the same time and the first to respond will be offered the spot.
The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (SRVEF) is proud to introduce Imagineering, a beyond school enrichment program for SRVUSD students in grades 4 to 7. The goal of Imagineering is to spark student interest in choosing STEM classes in middle and high school with the ultimate goal of identifying more STEM majors who will ultimately become highly sought after talent in the US corporate workplace.
The program consists of several themes, each of which is taught in four (4) one-hour classes. These courses are designed to provide a serious, but enjoyable, science experience to supplement the science exposure elementary and middle school students receive at school. Currently these classes are targeted for beginners, but as more children cycle through the program, there will be level 2 and 3 classes offered in these content areas as well.
The curriculum for each theme is developed by a master teacher, who also teaches the class. Each class is supported by student mentors, middle and high school students who are knowledgeable in the content and skills involved in the program. Imagineering is a hands-on program with students learning practical application within each of the themes.
