WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS

Date: December 17th-18th | Chennai

This workshop is a two days immersion into Composite Photography, Image Post-processing and High-end Retouching designed for both newbie and professionals. Imaginarium is a great opportunity for both photographers and Retouchers who are interested in acquiring a strong concept, solid lighting technique, posing fundamentals and high-quality Photoshop skills for both commercial assignments or personal projects.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS

You’ll master several aspects of high-end retouching and create a strong composite image. This course is going to cover a lot! That’s why we ‘ll be documenting and recording everything for you. So while going home back, you ‘ll be having everything in the form of video tutorials and keynotes. Plus you ‘ll get a lot of free materials like stock images, photoshop actions, patterns, backgrounds etc. which will keep you going.

ABOUT THE MENTOR

Dheny Patungka is an Indonesia-based Composite Photographer and Digital Artist. His popularity among photographers, retouchers and photography fans is evidenced by the more than 260k on Facebook and Instagram pages. Dheny is also a highly-sought photography and post processing mentor, having conducted more than 200 workshops worldwide since 2007. He has mentored more than a thousand students, many of whom have now become successful in their own respective careers.

He has loved Digital Photo Manipulation, which consists of manually blending in order to obtain the maximum dynamic range, while trying to keep a very natural look. This slight element of the surreal, or hyper-reality often found in painting is what he is trying to achieve.

COURSE CONTENT

DAY1:

Photoshop skills are an integral part of composite photography. That’s why we are going to start the post-processing session from a very basic level on the second day and we ‘ll take it to the very expert level during the second day of the workshop.

  • Introduction to photoshop

    Learn all the essential basic concept of photoshop, such as Layering, Channels, Image modes, Paths, Swatches etc.

  • General Workflow

    Learn in depth about the basic steps followed to enhance an image. This includes light, color, composition and focal point enhancements using layers, masks, curves, shadows and highlights.

  • Analyze the Image

    Learn how to analyze your images ,besides understanding where to go and why.

  • Light Enhancement

    Learn about adjustments : Quick masking, Tone and Contrast control correction using Curves, Hue/Saturation.

  • Create dramatic tones

    Learn about amazing Color and Texture Effect with which you can do a lot to alter the mood of a photo.

  • Color Enhancement

    Learn about color correction using tools such as selective color, color balance, sponge tool and some plug-ins. This ‘ll also be an introduction to non-destructive retouching.

  • Color Correction

    Learn about color correction using tools such as color balance, sponge tool etc.

  • Making the Subject Pop Out

    Learn how to make it look as if the subject of a photo is popping right out of the image.

DAY 2:

To wrap up the workshop we’ll jump into advanced Photoshop editing and bring it all together. Using some stock images, Dheny will go over retouching and show you some of his favorite techniques. Then we’ll shift over to compositing where Dheny will give a live demo of some of his favorite tips and tricks, and may work on some images shot by the participants.

  • Compositing tips

    Learn how to create stunning composite images by using several image elements from different pictures.

  • Dodging & Burning

    Learn how to use Dodging & Burning creatively for composite images.

  • Tidying up Night Effect

    No one can beat Dheny when it comes to Night Effects. Be there to experience it.

WORKSHOP FEE

INR 16,000/- per person
Includes lunch, tea/coffee, snacks and applicable taxes. You can also confirm your spot just by paying the booking amount of INR 10,000/- (rest of the amount you can pay before the workshop). Payment options will be shared upon inquiry.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the ill-fated event if you wish to cancel your booking after the payment, you will receive a credit note that can be used to avail of any of our services listed on our website, for:

a) 100% of the amount if you cancel before 30 days of the Workshop date,
or
b) 50% of the amount if you cancel before 15 days of the Workshop date

No credit note will be issued for canceling 2weeks prior to the Workshop date or for failing to attend the Workshop without prior intimation, and no cash refunds will be made under any circumstances.

    • I don’t have a DSLR and have only a compact digital camera. Will this Workshop still be useful for me?Yes. The fundamental concepts of digital photography are common to DSLR and compact digital cameras, so it will still be useful, and you’ll be able to try a majority of the discussed concepts practically if your compact camera has manual controls. However, in order to make the most out of the Workshop, we recommend you hire a DSLR .
