Event description
In this workshop, we'll learn how to create believable characters based on people you know.

About this Event

Let's be honest: at the end of the day, no matter how many characters you invent out of thin air, isn't there just one person you'd like to imitate more than anyone else?

In this workshop, we'll learn how to create believable characters based on people you know. Using that filter, not only does it make every decision easier, it might also be cathartic! You will not only understand them better, but also gain insights into your family (or other) dynamic, and get a clearer understanding of who you are and where you come from.

About Lauren;

Don't worry, you're in good hands. Lauren Stein has been teaching improv since 2007, and performing since 1989. She is also an Expressive Arts Therapist, and has published a book about the therapeutic benefits of improv called Fun at Work: Play Your Way to Better Mental Health. She has taught improv and performed in ten countries on four continents in person, and even more now virtually.

Lauren has a Bachelor's Degree in Drama from the University of Guelph, a Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from the European Graduate School, and is an ordained Hebrew Priestess from the Kohenet Institute. She is not a mother, but she used to teach a parenting class and was told by her students that she knows more about parenting than many parents. Go figure.
