Event description

Description

We are excited to present a day of talks and demonstrations to coincide with our Biennial Illustration Alumni/Faculty Exhibition called "Illustrating Resistance”. Space is very limited for the Risograph Demonstration, so we ask that you sign up to reserve your spot! The first twenty people to sign up will be eligible to participate in the demonstration.

Our scheduled presenters:

• Ajuan Mance: artist, author, and professor. She is the creator of the portrait series 1001 Black Men, a project which took her six years to complete. http://8-rock.com/.

• George McCalman: artist, designer, and illustrator. His work illustrating the Bay Area community, “Observed”, can be found in the pages of the SF Chronicle. http://www.mccalman.co/.

• Roman Muradov: author and illustrator. His book “On Doing Nothing: Finding Inspiration in Idleness” hits shelves in April 2018. http://www.bluebed.net/.

• Brian McMullen: artist and writer who lives and works in Bayview, San Francisco. He was the lead art director and a senior editor at McSweeney's for many years. Brian will be doing an extended demonstration of CCA’s beloved Risograph Machine. https://medium.com/@mcmubria/still-not-dotcoms-df7f18f4b1bb.

• Members of the Photoshop Creative Team, who will be showing off some of the wonderful additions to their software.

This day promises to be engaging, challenging, and inspiring for both continuing (and returning) students and faculty. We can’t wait to see you on the 20th!

Note: snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day, but we ask that you bring your own bag lunch.

Best,
