Discover the beauty and splendor of The Saint John's Bible at a captivating and lively presentation which shares the story behind this once-in-a-milennium undertaking and showcases some of the many artworks in this world-renowned project.

Through video, reproductions and rich visual images, guests will learn about the processes, tools, methods and materials behind the making of The Saint John's Bible. A rare, full scale reproduction of the bible is on display at the cathedral through May of 2018. Participants will be invited to see and touch the volume after the presentation. The breadth of scope of The Saint John's Bible has been compared to that of The Sistine Chapel. It is the first illuminated, handwritten Bible since the medieval period, and an international team of calligraphers and artists spent fifteen years creating it. Although the team used medieval techniques, the illustrations incorporate modern elements such as DNA strands, images from the Hubble telescope, and satellite photos of the Ganges River.
