A casual conversation about the making of "Illuminating Radioactivity," a website exploring the complex story of radiation.
About this event
Radiation is a term that we all have a visceral reaction to, but seldom understand. It is a phenomena associated with solar flares that created the cosmos, and the destruction inflicted on the victims of the nuclear bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki 75 years ago. Radiation's push and pull between [natural / manmade] and [life / death] have captured the public imagination for decades, beginning with its discovery all the way to its contemporary influence on sci-fi movies and TV shows.
How can we unpack its multi-layered meanings, and renew our understanding of our radioactive world?
Join us on August 13th 11AM PT / 2PM ET USA to examine radiation in politics, science, and the arts! This event will bring various artists, storytellers, and experts together involved in the production of the ILLUMINATING RADIOACTIVITY website (https://illuminating-radioactivity.com/)
