Equity: It Starts With Us

Illuminate Education's Equity Symposium is a one-day event addressing key issues of equity and access in education. Sessions will focus on the needs of underserved student groups, trauma-informed teaching, and equity-driven leadership.

The Symposium is open to all, including administrators, teachers and community members. Please join us as we come together to make our schools a safe and welcome environment for all students to thrive.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Dr. Gail Thompson

Dr. Thompson is focused on helping to develop more racially equitable policies and programs within school districts. She has served as Wells Fargo Endowed Professor of Education at Fayetteville State University and board member on the African American Advisory Committee for the California State Board of Education. Dr. Thompson has written six books and was awarded the “Distinguished Alumna Award” by Claremont Graduate University in 2009.
