The NE IL Whole Community Conference is free, open to the public, and lunch will be provided to attendees! Please register so we can ensure we have sufficient accomodations for everyone.

8:45a to 9:30a Keynote: Voluntary Agencies in Response and Recovery
A discussion of long-term recovery and lessons learned from various disaster response activities.
9:30a to 9:45a Break
9:45a to 11:00a Panel Discussion – Long-Term Recovery Issues and Lessons Learned
The panel participants will discuss lessons learned from recent events that have impacted NE Illinois, including the NATO Conference and 2013 Flooding events. Opportunities for questions and answers will also be provided following the discussion.
11:00a to 12:30p Networking and Lunch
Participants will be provided with lunch and an extended period of time to facilitate networking among and between Community Organizations. Interested organizations will be provided with space to set up materials and / or signage.
12:30p to 2:00p Breakout Groups
Session 1: Special Considerations for the Elderly, Pets and Children
Panelists will be given an opportunity to discuss special considerations and preparedness, response and recovery issues specific to elderly populations, pets, and children.
Session 2: Effective Shelter Management
Discussion of effective shelter management techniques for community organizations who may host a shelter site following a disaster.
Session 3: Using Social Media for Response or Recovery
Discussion of how emergency management and community partners can leverage social media to recruit volunteers, solicit resources, and manage incidents including public information.

2:15p to 3:30p Integration with Local Emergency Management
Discussion of how Community Organization Active in Disaster members have, and can, plug into local emergency response and recovery operations.
3:30p to 3:45p Wrap-up and Closing Comments
