Event description

Description

The road to greater efficiency sometimes can be filled with potholes. Most companies embarking on a Lean journey soon become frustrated with isolated improvement projects that work great in the short term but can't be sustained for the long haul. How do you build a real culture of continuous improvement and keep it going?

This three-day event is designed to help companies explore the philosophy and processes behind Lean and cultivate a culture of true problem solvers. Day 1 will feature a workshop addressing the top barriers to most Lean transformations, such as an overemphasis on "lean tools," isolating those tools in Operations, and failing to engage people across the organization. Facilitator Mike Hoseus will help your company do what you need to do to implement processes that attract, develop, and sustain committed team members.

You'll learn:

  • What you and your team will need to change in your current role to successfully lead a Lean transformation

  • How to create management systems and infrastructure that make problems visible and engage team members at all levels in a rigorous problem-solving and continuous improvement process

  • How to assess your organization to reveal gaps in its leadership, as well as technical and human systems that need to be addressed to build a lean culture.

For up to 30 event attendees, Days 2 and 3 will be an additional event giving participants a chance to practice Lean problem solving using real problems in a real context. Hosted by First National Bank of Omaha, the hands-on workshop will help participants identify and respond to challenges as they occur in a real-world setting. You'll learn by helping First National Bank address a specific issue, and you'll walk away understanding how to train your organization in the dynamic process of problem-solving.

This event is perfect for executive leaders, general managers, supervisors, Lean leaders, and anyone facilitating change within your organization who understand the importance of going beyond the tools. You'll learn how to create effective management systems and processes and set the basis for creating a sustainable lean, problem-solving culture across the entire organization.
