This ongoing class provided by the Ohara School of Ikebana is open to first time, beginner and advanced students. No experience is necessary. Appropriate for ages 16+.
All materials are provided to you during class so that you can create your own arrangement. Instruction and arrangement forms are tailored for you based on your experience and skill level and will vary from class to class.
Flower materials are included in the price and are yours to take home and enjoy. Other materials such as (Containers, Pin Frogs, Scissors, etc.) are available for purchase on site. You can pre-order a container and pin-frog here at www.bostonikebana.com and pick them up for your class! Look for the student starter kits. NOTE: everything you need will be provided to you to borrow during the class, there is no need to purchase anything unless you want to bring your arrangement home all in one piece.
NOTE: Registration must be completed by 9pm the day before class.
NOTE: Refunds can only be granted if requested by email by 9pm the day before class. This is because after this point the materials are selected and purchased and can not be refunded. Please try to understand and let your instructor know if you have any questions.
When & Where
Russell Bowers holds an Instructor Certification and 4th Term Masters Certification from the Ohara School of Ikebana in Japan. He began practicing Ikebana in 2008. He is the 2nd Vice President of the Ohara School of Ikebana Massachusetts Chapter. He is a Board Member of (N.A.O.T.A.) North American Ohara Teachers Association, a member of Ikebana International Boston Chapter, a member of the Japan Society of Boston and a member of the Fenway Garden Society in Boston MA. He has traveled to Japan several times to study Ikebana and has participated in numerous demonstrations and conferences to promote Ikebana. He has a sincere appreciation for Japanese culture & arts and practices Aikido & Zen meditation.
