Top Ten Tips for the Consulting Business Analyst

Consulting can be a rewarding path for business analysts who like to drive change; knowing how to handle all of the complexities as an independent consultant can be frustrating to do on your own. Avoid the frustration and learn from others as Jeanette provides a top ten list of tips as a consulting business analyst, based on tips from Karl Wiegers’ latest book “Going It Alone – Essential Tips for the Independent Consultant”. Jeanette was a guest author, contributing Chapter 7 “Consultants as Legitimate Leaders: The Goldilocks Approach”.

Becoming an independent consultant is exciting but also a bit scary. There's a lot to know about setting up your business, finding and working with clients, forming and communicating business policies, and establishing yourself as a respected business analysis professional. It is nearly impossible to learn all that you need to know through experience only, which can be a frustrating and costly process to endure. Cutting right to the chase Jeanette’s presentation of her “top ten tips” highlights of the six areas; “Setting Up Shop”, “On the Job”, “Practicalities”, “Building the Business”, “Media Matters”, and “Writing Your Way to Success”.

Key Attendee Benefits:
Learn how to establish yourself as an independent consultant for the first time, or discover how to resolve issues you currently have as an independent consultant.
