IIBA New York City Chapter Presents
The Future of Business Analysis
Kathleen Barret is a recognized leader and visionary in the field of Business Analysis. She founded and lead the professional association for business analysts, International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), since it's inception in 2003 to August 2013. Under Kathleen's direction, IIBA grew from a completely volunteer-based organization with 37 members, to a global organization with 29 staff and over 26,000 members in 120+ countries and over $5 million in revenue. Kathleen recently co-founded MicroMarketPlace, an online, on-demand marketplace that connects managers and experienced business analysts for expert advice, coaching or consulting, one hour at a time.
While many of the activities associated with business analysis have been around for a number of years, the business analyst role was not necessarily formalized until fairly recently. Continuing pressure on business to be not only efficent in getting work done, but also effective in addressing changing market demands, has elevated the awareness and importance of the BA role. In this presentation, Kathleen discusses the history of business analysis, the changing business realities, and the future of business analysis.
We're meeting at Microsoft, at their new location, 11 Times Square, but please note actual entrance is on the 8th Avenue, across from Port Authority, between 41st and 42nd streets. All attendees must enter through the Microsoft Welcome Center with a state issued I.D. where they will be directed to the 5th floor.
We hope you can make it!
