Event Details

The objective of the monthly Booth Energy Breakfast (BEN) is to meet Booth and University of Chicago Alumni in DC who share an interest in Energy and to explore opportunities to enhance the Energy network in the DC area. 


8am - Breakfast served thanks to the University of Chicago DC office that this time will sponsor the event (sponsors needed for next events)

8:20 - Presentation 1 - "Distributed Renewable Energy Project Opportunities", by Richard Miller 
8:25 - Presentation 2 - "The DOE Loan Program: Underwriting Technological Risk Via the Political Process", by Bill Pegues
8:30 - Presentation 3 - "Distributed Solar Development", by Craig Schultz 
8:35 - Presentation 4 - “AES and the Global Market for Energy Storage", by Marek Wolek 
8:40 - Presentation 5 - TBC
8:45 to 9:15 - Q&A with presenters
9:15 to 9:55:  BEN group conversation to decide: (i) an informal yet functional organization structure for the first 6 months of the "startup" period, (ii) alternatives for sponsorship for coming breakfasts, (iii) database / survey to members, (iv) confirmation of next "monthly leaders" for the coming events (Irene, Marek ... thank you)

PS Established by alumni and students of Chicago Booth in 2009, BEN is intended to provide a global platform for alumni and off-campus discussion and networking. The network is continuing to grow around the world and becoming a virtual and physical platform for the active sharing of insights and ideas as well as a tool to reinforce a network of professional contacts amongst the entire Booth community.  Non-Booth, University of Chicago alums are also welcome in the BEN community.
