Description

Hello Parents and Teachers:

Good news!!! It’s time to sign up for the first Science Saturday of the new school year. The Fall 2019 sponsor, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (with state law enforcement trust fund monies) is helping IHMC to offer these free, fun, hands-on science events at the IHMC Pensacola campus, 40 S. Alcaniz St., for students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6.

The first Science Saturday is set for Sept. 21 and will be led by Dr. Peter Neuhaus, a senior research scientist at IHMC. We will making electric motors and learning about how they are used in robotics at IHMC.

Please register students in grades 3 and 4 for the 9 am session, and students in grades 5 and 6 for the 11 am session. Both sessions will be age appropriate, so please be sure register for the correct time. If there are no tickets left when you register, please click on JOIN WAITLIST and follow the instructions. Repeat this for each child that you would like to add to the list.

If you’re on the waitlist, we will let you know no later than Friday, September 20 if we can accommodate your child. It’s definitely worthwhile to join the list, as we usually get a number of cancellations during the last few days before each event. And… if you don’t get a ticket after joining the list, you can request priority registration for the next event. If you have any questions, please call the IHMC front desk at 850.202.4462.

The generosity of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office makes it possible for IHMC to offer hands-on science events free of charge to all attendees. Science is super fun! We hope you’ll join us!

Sincerely, Ursula M. Schwuttke, Ph.D.
