Event description

Join us to learn, connect and share with educators and thought-leaders in your community during a free day of immersive professional learning to dive into the world of computational thinking in partnership with the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative and the University of Cincinnati. Through an immersive, hands-on agenda, you will learn ways to seamlessly connect computational thinking strategies to standards across a variety of subject areas. You’ll leave ready to put these strategies into practice with over 40 transdisciplinary lesson plans from Ignite My Future in School.

Reserve your seat today! Don’t miss out on this fun, dynamic day of professional learning -- there will be giveaways of drones and other tech goodies!

All educators welcome to join and take home FREE transdisciplinary resources and strategies designed to effectively engage classrooms with the foundations of computational thinking across subject areas through engaging lessons like:

Emoji Essay (Social Studies and ELA)
Read, analyze, and abstract the content within a piece of literature into emojis, and capture the main themes of the text for someone who does not speak the English language.

Build a Movement (ELA, Math, and Social Studies)
Analyze what makes memes and movements go "viral" on social media, and use that knowledge to bring awareness to important social issues.

Drop the Beat (Arts, Engineering, Music, Science)
Experience how songs are built on patterns and how they can loop these patterns in order to efficiently create new music, much like computer coders use loops to create computer programs.
