Lunch program: IFMA for Hawai‘i, Update
Derrick Sonoda, IFMA-Hawai‘i
Strategies for Cooling Technologies
David Wylie, author the industry’s book on refrigerants, will speak to how sustainability concerns with global warming and ozone depletion has driven AC equipment engineers and manufactures to move to other than the mainstream refrigerants. This mandated shift in refrigerant choices have an impact on the performances of the compressors and chillers where its efficiency is not spared with the change. Hear David’s explanation of how upcoming phase out dates (e.g. 2025) is managing the manufactures to implement changes today.
