About this Event

As the parent of a child with special needs, you represent your child's interests in IEP meetings. When you negotiate effectively with the school, you increase the odds that your child will receive a quality education program.

In this workshop, we will cover:

-How to prepare for an IEP meeting

-How to review the IEP document before you sign

-Common mistakes parents make in IEP meetings

-How to address behavior problems in the IEP

-Placement decisions- factors to consider

-How to resolve Parent-School Disputes

Debbie Vielbaum is an education consultant with more than 30 years experience consulting with parents on Special Education evaluations and services. Debbie has a Masters of Arts degree in Special Education and is a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA). She is also the former Assistant head of school at Charles Armstrong.
