Description

We believe the first steps in developing cultural competence are (1) open attitude, (2) self-awareness and (3) other awareness. The NC State Office of Instutional Equity and Diversity has an amazing approach for introducing some of these concepts and addressing issues of discrimination, oppression and handling controversial issues through NCBI Workshops. The National Coalition Building Institute is comprised of faculty, staff and student facilitators trained in delivering the award-winning curriculum.

As a critical starting point in preparing individuals for international experiences and intercultuarl interactions, GTI is offering this day-long workshop to all NC State University faculty, staff and students. We do ask participants to bring your own lunch--coffee and tea will be provided.
