About this Event

The changes that often come in later life—retirement, the death of loved ones, increased isolation, medical problems—can lead to stress, anxiety and depression. Having some anxiety and fear is normal given the circumstances of everyday life. Anxiety and depression are not an inevitable part of aging and if left unchecked will affect your physical and cognitive health. There are many steps you can take to overcome the symptoms. Join us for a journey in identifying and overcoming these challenges as you age.

Brian Browne is the president of Dementia Care Education and the Editor in Chief of Dementia Care News and possesses over 20 years of experience in the field of Alzheimer's disease. He is an expert in Alzheimer's/dementia research, clinical trials, aging, cultural competency, caregiver strategies and dementia education and training.

Mr. Browne is a noted public speaker and frequent lecturer at meetings and conferences regionally and nationally. Mr. Browne has been featured by many media outlets and produces regular content for various Alzheimer’s publications. His research interests include examining the role of modifiable systemic risk factors and lifestyle intervention to prevent cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia as well as caregiver education.

Mr. Browne attended Arizona State University undergraduate and earned a graduate degree in cognitive science from Cleveland State University. Mr. Browne’s academic appointments include Midwestern University and he consults for a number public and private entities in various capacities including the Cleveland Clinic, Biogen, Genentech and many more.

Mr. Browne has the pleasure of serving on the leadership council of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium. Mr. Browne also serves the boards of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, AZ-TW Society of Technology and the Southwest Association for Education in Biomedical Research.
