TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

  • Strangulation can cause unconsciousness within seconds and death within minutes. It impacts all professionals working on sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking cases.
  • Strangulation is not only an ultimate form of power and control that can have a devastating psychological effect on victims but because victims often do not have visible injuries it exposes them to potentially serious health consequences and further violence.

This conference serves as an opportunity to recognize the prevalence and educate those that work with victims to better identify, investigate and prosecute domestic violence strangulation cases.
