Identifying and Assisting Trafficked Children in Monroe County

This free two-day training is offered to OCFS and child welfare staff and other professionals in Monroe County that provide direct services to vulnerable youth. This training is part of ChildRight: New York, a special project aimed at developing a coordinated response to child trafficking across New York State to address the commercial sexual exploitation of minors and child labor trafficking.
For the first time, this unique training will present information on New York State's plans for implementing a coordinated response to child trafficking in Monroe County. This new information is valuable to those new to the subject as well as those who have received prior training on human trafficking.
This training will cover the following topics: Child Trafficking as a Human Rights Issue, Framework for Responding to Child Trafficking in Monroe County, Identifying & Screening for Potentially Trafficked Children, Conducting Safe & Effective Outreach to Vulnerable Youth, Trauma and Clinical Responses for Trafficked Children, Best Practices for Providing Services to Trafficked Children, Preventing Trafficking of Children, Resources in Monroe County for Trafficked Children, & Coordinating with OCFS to Build An Agency Response to Child Trafficking.
Lunch will be provided. Travel mileage expenses will be reimbursed at the state rate.
Space is limited. Participants who successfully complete both days of training will have access to free technical assistance and receive a certificate of training on child trafficking from OCFS and IOFA.
