Event description

Description

Join us for the first event in our new "Ideas on Tap," a quarterly series of pint-sized conversations about big ideas, like "FAKE NEWS."

In our 24-hour news cycle, there’s often not enough time to separate fact from fiction before content goes viral. Information travels too quickly and articles are shared without being read closely or evaluated for accuracy. Is the misinformation, disinformation, and political propaganda more acute today than ever before? Join us for a conversation and Q & A with a journalist, educator, and legal expert about the role and influence of mass media in our democracy.

Moderator:
Erika Janik, Executive Producer, NH Public Radio

Presenters:
Tiffany Eddy, Principal, Tiffany Eddy & Associates
Mark Timney, Associate Professor of Journalism, Keene State College
Bill Glahn, Esq., Director - Litigation, McLane Middleton

Cost is $10 per person and includes appetizers and one beverage (beer, wine, or non-alcoholic drink) in the relaxed atmosphere of the Barley House B Lounge. Please RSVP by October 16.

Please mark your calendars for these other upcoming Ideas on Tap events:

Tuesday, March 5, 2019: Artificial Intelligence: Technology and the Humanities
Tuesday, June 4, 2019: Wealth Inequity: Civil Society and the Humanities
