Description

Ideas in Action in AgeTech

During this Ideas in Action, two companies will present a challenge they're facing in agetech:

  1. Nathan Trelour, COO of Orbita: How can their platform company best scale across the board, without the risk of spreading themselves too thin or confusing the market?
  2. Paul Adams, senior director of product management for Philips Home Monitoring: How do they use off-the-shelf IoT devices in the home to help determine that a senior is mentally and physically well, so they know if there is a problem?

We invite everyone to join the conversation and ideation. This is a business challenge sprint. Come hear about the growing entrepreneurial opportunities in the agetech space.

Sally Abrahms (writer on aging & boomers) and Ken Freitas (director of IoT for Good Lab) will help facilitate the conversation.

Join the conversation:

Tuesday, April 23
4-6pm
Park Manor West, Schlesinger Center

This event is free and open to Babson, Olin, and Wellesley College students, faculty, and staff.

About IoT for Good Lab

Created in 2017, the IoT for Good Lab provides opportunities, resources, seed funding, and support for students to initiate and launch IoT-enabled social ventures to address the UN Global Goals by using the Internet of Things (IoT). The Lab, sponsored by a three-year grant by The Verizon Foundation, facilitates interdisciplinary teams of entrepreneurial, engineering, design, art, and liberal arts students.

About Ideas in Action

Ideas in Action is a technique that can be used in any situation to move from an idea to action or from a challenge to opportunity. This fast-paced process allows you to experiment with elements of the Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® (ET&A™) methodology to further an idea or initiative that you want to see manifested.

A person will present a challenge to the community. The full community will “gift” their insights and knowledge in furthering the challenge, by helping the presenter to take actionable next steps.
