To solidify the connections between public education classrooms and industry, BioNetwork has created the Industry Driven Educational Activities (IDEA) series of workshops for educators. Each of these workshops will be a single-day clinic whih provide participants with hands-on experiences in an industry setting and allow them to create standards-based, industry-relevant activities for their students.
Join us at Vance-Granville Community College to explore the applications of good manfacturing practices in an advanced manufacturing facility. Visit Novozymes, an industry leader in bioinnovation and the production of industrial enzymes. See first hand how enzymes are identified, manufactured, and used for biofuel production. Learn how to integrate this experience into your curriculum through an inquiry-based activity that will have your students bioprospecting for cellulose-degrading microbes!
