Event description

Description

Jack Loyd Gish is a rare songwriting talent, unique in his approach to music. His lyrics tell of a world where main street is lit by the beer signs in the windows of the bar. He sings about love and Idaho and his messages are for everyone. There’s sugar in the coffee and a dirty bar rag.

Jack has hundreds of great songs to share and it amazes us that this is only his first release. This album will entertain you and keep you coming back! Jack's autobiographical fictional songwriting has influenced songs on the CD such as 'Turn Out The Lights", "Another Drink" and "Idaho Blues". Jack will be joined by TT Miller, Larry “Mando” Brandon, Tommy Hogard, Grant Green, Steve Eaton, Gordon and Tamera Hamilton

Oh yeah! He’s extremely good look’in too... just ask his wife, Lois!

Jack Loyd Gish was born in Cottonwood, Idaho in 1947 and was raised in small north Idaho towns from Bonner’s Ferry to Craigmont. His father (an old-time fiddler) brought a guitar home and at 16 Jack instantly be came a songwriter. After serving his country as an Army Lieutenant in the late sixties he returned home to Idaho and continued his passion for songwriting. He moved south to Boise in the early seventies and became a familiar face in the local music scene. Starting out with the duos of Garets & Gish and Gish & Moran, playing The Sandpiper, Pengilly’s, Lock, Stock & Barrel and other venues in Boise and surrounding towns. The duos developed into The Cowboy Hatband then the Jack Gish Band, and now, much later ‘defjak’. A devoted husband and family man Jack put his performing on hold for 30 years to raise his four kids. Thanks to his good friend Bob Kambitsch he came out of reclusion and joined the ISA in 2010 and became a proud and supportive member. After 50+ years of songwriting and thanks to his good friends and producers Gordon and Tamera Hamilton, his dream of recording a CD of original songs has come true.

Steve Eaton says, "As a songwriter. I get many chances to listen to other songwriters material. I just recently heard a new CD entitled Jack Loyd Gish. This CD gets 15 out of 15 homers! I consider Jack the Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) of songwriting!"

To quote fellow songwriter Mike Cramer, “Jack is an amazing songwriter and a humble man."

From fellow songwriter and band member TT Miller, "Jack's CD is masterfully written, listen closely to his stories..."
