Description
Lawyers are increasingly seen engaging in discourse on social media, posting politically charged commentary, and otherwise being public figures and representing clients before the jury of public opinion. This symposium explores the perils and pitfalls for legal discourse of lawyers on social media. To what degree can we distinguish between pundit and lawyer? Do professionals need a code of conduct that guides them in expressing opinions on the Internet? Is the public savvy enough to distinguish between the varying roles lawyers may play on social media? This symposium addresses the important issues of #TwitterLaw.
Approved for 6.5 MCLE ethics credits by the Idaho State Bar.
