Description

NOTE: Registration for the full event closes April 15th, 2017. Participants who want to register after this date will not be eligible for the meals that are included in the registration fee, but will be able to attend all lectures, the yoga class and the hike.

WELCOME!

To our knowledge, there has never been an educational event in the Treasure Valley that includes a variety of women’s health care workers and offers no or low-cost CEUs. This conference and retreat is a perfect mix of work and play! We spend so much time with clients at the office, charting, supporting families and running ourselves ragged. It’s time to mix it up, have a fun weekend with good friends and remind ourselves how lucky we all are to be in this line of work. This could also be a great networking opportunity and a reunion with colleagues you haven’t seen in months or years. We’ve chosen unique lecture topics to offer a fresh and intersting agenda and we’re interspersing the educational sessions with fun events like yoga, dinner, hiking and wine. It’s going to be a blast!

Anyone involved in women’s health care is encouraged to attend! Nursing babies are welcome and there is a lactation room with a hospital grade breast pump available at the conference center. Boise is a wonderful city, especially in the spring. So if you plan to travel from out of town, bring the family along. There is no shortage of activities such as hiking in the foothills, visiting the farmers market, exploring the Whitewater Park or driving up the mountain to Bogus Basin Recreation Area.

The weekend will begin Friday night with a meet and greet cocktail hour. Attendees will be on their own for dinner this first night. We are teaming up with Boise Birth Services to screen the 2015 documentary In Utero which explores how our time in the womb greatly impacts our life for years to come and the role epigenetic plays across generations. Watch the trailer here! Saturday morning we will host an optional sunrise yoga session followed by interesting lecture topics and a luncheon. Saturday night we will gather for a dinner and short presentation, sponsored by Diclegis. Sunday morning we will offer an optional hike, then hit the ground running with more lectures, netowrking and a second luncheon.

We are hoping to offer 9-10 CEUs through ACNM (applicaiton pending). LMs/CPMs & Nurse Practitioners can also use these credits towards their continuing edcation. Unfortuantely, we did not have the budget this year to afford the ACMEC CME application, so we are unable to offer CEUs. Hopefully next year we will have enough funds to do so! Prior to attending, please check with your certifying organization to see if they will accept ACNM-approved CEUs. And remember, 1 contact hour = 0.1 CEU.

Meals will be provided by the Idaho ACNM Affiliate and a handful of generous sponsors (Diclegis, Merck and Natera). When registering, please make note of dietary restrictions and preferences. Only registered conference attendees will be permitted to the Saturday night Diclegis Dinner at Beside Bardenay.

There are a few options for accomodations depending on your budget. The Boise Guest House (www.boiseguesthouse.com) is located in downtown Boise and is a 10min walk from the conference center. Their prices range from $99-$209 per night. Other nice hotels within walking distance are The Grove, Hampton Inn and Suites, and Courtyard Downtown Boise. There are also a number of affordable AirBnb listings in the area (www.airbnb.com). If you are interested in staying with a local attendee or if you are willing to host, please let us know as soon as possible via email idahoacnm@gmail.com. Additionally, if you are traveling from out of town and would prefer to not rent a car, Uber and Lift are alive and well in Boise. Once downtown, all conference activities will be within walking distance.

The conference will be held at The Anderson Center (St. Luke’s Hospital Boise, South Tower 5th Floor, 100 E Idaho Street, North Entrance, Boise, ID 83702). For those of you who attended the 2016 Conference, it is in the same locaiton. Free parking is available onsite. Please visit this link for details and a campus map https://www.regonline.com/custImages/400000/406260/boise_campus_map.pdf.

In addition to the meals and lectures, we will offer a free yoga class and morning hike. If you are interested, please indicate this preference when you register so that we can get a head count. The yoga class will be held at the conference center at 6:00am on 4/29/17 and the hikers will meet at 6:00am on 4/30/17 (exact location TBD), a short walk from downtown.
