Come celebrate Ida B Wells’s birthday at a screening of the film “The Black Press: Soldiers Without Swords” followed by a intimate discussion with Nikole Hannah-Jones, staff writer at the New York Times Magazine & 2017 MacArthur Fellow, Jamilah Lemieux, writer & cultural critic and Akiba Solomon, writer and senior editorial director of Colorlines.
This event will serve as a fundraiser to build a monument in Chicago to honor Ida’s life, legacy and work. Information about the monument project is at here.

We're asking for a donation of at least $50 (which reserves your seat) to whatever you can afford to donate to the fundraiser. Please be as generous as you can be to support the effort to build a monument to honor Ida's life, legacy and work. If you would like your donation to be tax-deductible, you can donate directly to the moument project.
If you can't afford $50, donate what you can afford but please keep in mind that we are trying to raise funds for the monument so be as generous as possible.
