Pete Sands was born and raised on the Navajo-Indian reservation in southern Utah. He graduated from Whitehorse High School in his hometown of Montezuma, Creek, UT. After high school he attended the College of Eastern Utah and obtained his associates degree in Criminal Justice. Afterwards he was accepted into Weber State University in Ogden, UT and obtained his bachelors in Criminal Justice as well.

Nevertheless, he had a calling on the side as being writer. He began singing and play while attending the university. After graduating he went on a journey to find his calling. Years of playing coffee houses, corner stores, bars, and open mics, Sands decided to record his first album.

In the fall of 2014 he released his debut album “Dirt Dance Floor” under the name BLACKKISS. The music caught the ears of filmmakers and soon enough BLACKKISS was on the radar. His big break came from a musician he admired, now a close friend, Whitey Morgan. He asked Sands to open one of his Salt Lake City shows and it was the first time Sands was put in front of a huge crowd.

Currently, Pete is in the process recording his debut album “Thunder Roads” under the rebranded “Pete Sands & the Drifters”. Sands has also continued working with the hit TV show “Yellowstone”, which recently wrapped production for its second season.

Elaine Miles was the cold of Marilyn Whirlwind on Northern Exposure, 1990-1995. She is highly respected in the American Native Community for her efforts to make sure her character on Northern Exposure was represented culturally accurate. In 1995, Miles was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of Northern Exposure case in the category, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
