Do you know a middle school or high school student? Have they read All American Boys yet? Have you read it?
In this compelling 2016 Coretta Scott King Honor Award winning novel two teens - one black, one white - grapple with the repercussions of a single violent act that leaves their school, their community, and, ultimately, the country bitterly divided by racial tension.
We are looking for students to read the book and come to one of two facilitated discussions for our pilot discussion in December. Are you a student? Or maybe your kids, grandkids, family friends, etc would be interested?
Please RSVP for one of the dates so we know who to expect. (Please RSVP for students only.)
Sunday, December 4: 2:00 - 3:30 pm - Ann Arbor District Library (downtown location - 343 South Fifth Ave)
Sunday, December 11: 2:00 - 3:30 pm - Ypsilanti District Library (5577 Whitaker Road)
Based on feedback we get from the pilot program, we hope to be able to expand this programming in 2017!
Books are available at the library, at Nicolas Books (ask for the book group discount), or ICPJ has a few loaners.
Thank you for sharing the word!
