Helen Bell- AAC Assessment Modules: 25th January 1.30pm-3.30pm a unique opportunity for you to explore these free online modules, designed at MMU as part of a research project funded by NHS Education Scotland. These modules assess skill level and allow for further knowledge and development with regards to clients and the assessment process. Suitable for CPD with the possibility of getting the modules accredited.
Emily Gabrielle & Mark Street- Liberator Ltd: 22ND March 12.30pm-3.30pm will present this interactive workshop where you will get hands on experience with a range of their AAC aid technologies.Their assistive technology solutions focus on language development and support independent and spontaneous communication to enrich lives. PLEASE NOTE THIS SEMINAR HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED
Jane Lowe- Manchester Met Uni: 1st March 1.30pm-3.30pm will deliver a hands on workshop exploring aspects of paediatric assessment. You will get the opportunity to practice delivery, scoring and discussion of the implications of results.
Sara Dale – ACE Centre: Friday 17th March 1.00pm-3.00pm Sara is a specialist teacher at the ACE centre, which is a specialized AAC service. Sara will describe the function, activities and resources that the ACE centre offers across the whole of the North West region. ACE has a sister centre in Oxford. There are 15 specialised AAC services across the whole of England.
Donna Phelan- Living with a communication disability: Tuesday 21st March 10.30-12.30pm will deliver a workshop highlighting her personal experiences of life after a brain hemorrhage in her late 30’s. She will also provide you with an opportunity to learn what being a good communication partner really means.
