The April 2023 Vaccine Forum launches the Immunization Coalition of Los Angeles County’s (ICLAC) general educational sessions this year. The series' goal is for Los Angeles County partnering organizations to share the latest vaccine guidance and best practices to improve immunization coverage, especially among those at the highest risk in Los Angeles County.

About "Let's RISE" - Routine Immunizations on Schedule for Everyone
Leverages Let’s RISE, a CDC initiative to provide actionable strategies, resources, and data to support getting all Americans back on-schedule with routine immunizations to protect everyone from vaccine-preventable disease and disability.
- Addresses the concerning decline in routine immunizations for adults and children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Uses evidence-based strategies and resources to encourage catch up on routine vaccinations and communicate why being up to date on routine vaccinations is critical for staying healthy so that families and adults can make informed decisions
- Sample Resources include flyers and family friendly vaccine schedules for kids and for adults
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we experienced a significant decrease in routine immunizations for adults and children, particularly in school-required vaccinations.
- Routine Immunizations on Schedule for Everyone (RISE): The Immunization Coalition of Los Angeles County (ICLAC) presents a hybrid April 4th Vaccine Forum, leverages Let’s Rise, a CDC initiative providing actionable strategies, resources, and data to support getting all Americans back on-schedule with routine immunizations to protect everyone from vaccine-preventable disease & disability.
- Vaccinate Your Family will present the State of the ImmUnion report, to help examine the strength of our country’s defenses against vaccine-preventable diseases, and actions to make our country stronger and more resilient in the face of emerging health threats.
- Community Spotlight- National Association of School Nurses Champions best practices for immunizing pediatric populations at schools in underserved areas
- Vaccination resources, education, and misinformation training for healthcare workers, providers, community, and faith-based organizations.

Featured Speaker, Jaime Vickery, MPP | Vaccinate Your Family, State of the ImmUnion
Jaimie Vickery, MPP is Vaccinate Your Family’s Government Affairs Lead, cultivating and maintaining relationships with U.S. Government officials, Members of Congress, and relevant Committee staff to create opportunities to develop and support sound public health policies that affect immunizations across the lifespan. Jaimie coordinates with local and state public health and immunization partners to support vaccine policies and legislative efforts throughout the nation, including educational programs to support advocacy-building at the grassroots level.
Jaimie comes to the role with a wealth of experience in public health, advocacy, and maternal and child health. Most recently, she was a member of the senior leadership team at Cure SMA, a patient advocacy group for a rare neurological genetic disease. While there, she led both federal and state advocacy efforts to increase screening for the condition, improve access to care and develop treatments.
She also led federal advocacy and government relations for the March of Dimes Foundation, where she developed and executed several successful advocacy campaigns, resulting in increased funding for health research, greater inclusion of women in clinical trials, and improved immunization efforts for pregnant women and infants. She also managed the Zika Coalition, a diverse group of over 100 organizations, which successfully advocated for public education efforts about the virus, mosquito eradication efforts, and epidemiological research to prevent the spread of the virus.
A native of Southern California, Jaimie holds a B.A. in political science from Azusa Pacific University and a Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University.
