Event Details

The #ICE18 Conference Committee would like to invite you to attend the 2018 Keynote Engaging Neurodiverse Individuals: The Power of Acceptance and Positivity event: Special Books By Special Kids w/ Chris Ulmer.

"I have made it my life’s mission to normalize the diversity of the human condition by showcasing how understanding, positivity, and acceptance can make a better world for all. Together, we will explore these concepts and more through my experiences with the worldwide acceptance movement, Special Books by Special Kids (SBSK)." Chris Ulmer

Special Books by Special Kids is a multi-media movement that spreads empathy, understanding and acceptance for neurodiverse individuals. Founder and CEO, Chris Ulmer, began Special Books by Special Kids (SBSK) with the desire to share the unique talents and incredible personalities of the students in his special education with others. He feared the isolation the neurodiverse community often faces would limit his student’s ability to meet their full potential and positively impact society. Without the backing of a publisher, what started as an idea for a book series became a multi-media movement.

Mr. Chris and Executive Director, Alyssa Porter, are dedicating their lives to this important work and their vision
to lead a global acceptance movement that brings awareness to the joys, needs, and struggles of the special needs community and promotes the acceptance and celebration of neurodiverse individuals by all. This vision is a lofty one, but together we can change the world.

The SBSK family reaches millions and spans over 110 countries around the world. At Special Books by Special Kids:
• We share stories, providing children and families from the special needs community with an audience to share their thoughts and experiences.
• We connect societies around the world, building a global dialogue around neurodiversity.
• We serve as an educational resource, inspiring the teachers of tomorrow through innovative and intentional

Please join us for an inspiring evening! After the keynote (from 7:30 - 8:30) there will be a Meet and Greet with Mr. Chris.
