COLD CONNECTIONS @ MISSION BAY.

Stressed from the week at work? Suffering from feelings of anxiety? Struggling to slow down a racing mind? Looking for a community of like minded individuals? Wanting to challenge yourself and try something new? Looking to get more out of life?

If you’re answer is yes to any of these, then this event is for you.

Join us at Mission Bay for a guided connection, breathwork and meditation session followed by a guided ice bath experience.

These sessions are designed to create an emphasis on community, building nervous system awareness and regulation as well as getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Time: 8:30AM - 10:30AM.

Where: Eastern end of Mission Bay beach. (Across the road from 135 Tamaki Drive)

Cost: $20 (inc. eventbrite fees).

Who: Absolutely anyone who is interested. No breathwork or cold exposure experience needed.

The event includes:

- Breathwork/meditation tools

- Connection session

- Breathwork explanation

- Guided breathwork and meditation session

- Cold exposure explanation

- Guided ice bath session

The session will start with some practices into cultivating awareness of our internal states through differing breathwork and meditative practices.

Following that we will be guiding you through connection exercises to meet other members of the community.

We will then move onto an explanation of breathwork including the what’s, why’s and science behind it. This leads into a fully guided and facilitated 10 minute breathwork session, followed by a 10 minute meditation.

Following the breathwork session we will have a brief intermission prior to the ice baths. Once we have explained the reasoning ,science and what to expect with the cold exposure, each participant will be go into the ice bath whilst being fully supported and guided by our facilitators.

We will meet for coffee afterwards to continue connecting following the session but this is completely optional.

What to bring:

- Towel/yoga mat to lie on

- Drink bottle

- Warm comfortable clothes

- Togs/clothes you feel comfortable wearing in the ice bath

- Blanket/sleeping bag to keep warm on cold mornings

- Money/Keep Cup for post session coffee

Please arrive 10 minutes prior so the event can start on time. There is plenty of parking in the Mission Bay carparks, on Tamaki Drive or in the surrounding side streets.

We recommend fasting or eating a light breakfast that’s easy to digest prior to the session. It is also recommended to avoid caffeine before the event (Coffee catch ups after so we can get our caffeine fix!!).

Health contraindications:
 As we will be doing a breathwork and ice bath session it is important to let us know If you have any of the following medical contraindications. Please email us at coldconnections.akl@gmail.com if you have any of the following conditions before purchasing a ticket; pregnancy (any level), cardiovascular disease/condition, heart attack, high blood pressure, strokes, glaucoma or retinal detachment, recent injury or surgery, panic attacks or psychosis, seizures, epilepsy, severe mental illness, aneurysms (or family history).

If you are still unsure we recommend speaking with a GP and getting the all clear from them before signing up for the session.

Cancellation Policy:
In result of adverse weather, the event will be cancelled on either the Friday evening or Saturday morning. All money will be refunded fully through Eventbrite in the circumstance of poor weather.

If the event goes ahead, any ticket that is cancelled via email more than 48 hours prior to the event (before Thursday morning) will be refunded minus the eventbrite fees.

If you cancel within 48 hours of the event or are a no show, you will not receive a refund and 100% of the ticket price will be forfeited. Due to the effort, time and energy that goes into this event, we appreciate your support with this policy.
