Description

Description

Arbitration is well established as a dispute resolution mechanism, but there is a rising tide of other options. Domestic courts, international commercial courts and mediation are all adapting to meet international demand. This event aims to consider these developments, reflect on arbitration in practice and consider the way forward: will arbitration still be a preferred method of resolving international disputes in the future?

Speakers:

1. Lucy Martinez, Counsel & Arbitrator, Martinez Arbitration, London

2. Alexandra McVay, Investment Manager, IMF Bentham, Brisbane

3. Jason Mitchenson, Barrister, Level 27 Chambers, Brisbane

4. Hazel Tang, Counsel, ICC, Singapore

5. Erika Williams, Senior Associate, McCullough Robertson, Brisbane

Moderators:

1. Carmel Proudfoot, Associate, Norton Rose Fulbright, Perth

2. Jay Tseng, Soicitor, King & Wood Mallesons, Brisbane

Who should attend?

This event is aimed at young arbitration practitioners and students under 40 years old, but is open to all counsel, arbitrators, in-house counsel or academics interested in international commercial arbitration and international dispute resolution.
