"What's New with Green Building XML (gbXML)"
1. A brief overview of gbXML
2. Presentation and discussion of the new gbXML validation test cases and an introduction to the gbXML rating system for certified vendors. It will discuss the validation work done with NREL's Open Studio and it also discuss the work with Autodesk to achieve Level 3 certification (automation).
3. A sample run-through exporting the ASHRAE headquarters from Autodesk Revit to Trane TRACE using gbXML. This is part of a seminar I will be giving at the Las Vegas meeting in January 2017.
Stephen Roth is President at Carmel Software and President of gbXML.org. He founded Carmel in 1995 to develop Windows-based HVAC and engineering software and also perform custom software development for HVAC OEM and contracting firms. In 2008, he sold the software intellectual property to Autodesk and joined Autodesk as a Revit Senior Product Manager to help incorporate the analysis code into Revit. In 2010, he left Autodesk to restart Carmel as a mobile software development company. Currently, Carmel licenses 40+ different types of engineering mobile apps to over 125,000 users and also develops customized software for many different organizations.
Stephen is a University of Pennsylvania engineering and Wharton grad. He has an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California and a LEED AP.
