Join Dr. Robert Trumbull and BIS 499 students for a career conversation with IAS alum Nick Chen!

Nick Chen is a Restoration Technician and Ecologist at Adopt A Stream Foundation. Nick earned a BA degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington Bothell in 2016. In 2017, Nick joined The Adopt A Stream Foundation as a part time employee and Docent Naturalist who took care of the Nature Store, membership services, Gate House, entry trail, and Streamkeeper Academy Programs on the weekends. During the weekdays he worked for Washington Conservation Corps AmeriCorps as a crewman. He did restoration planting, invasive species removal, and fencing projects. He also got to go to USVI, St. Croix for 30 days as part of disaster response to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria where he made assessments of damaged houses, saw and debris removal, along with muk and gutting. Nick joined our Stream Team on a full time basis in 2018.



Mentor Chats are designed to assist students with career exploration, networking, and learning about a range of professional trajectories. Through hosted conversations, Mentor Chats provide opportunities to connect with IAS alumni working across diverse roles and sectors.
