The IAC Cinematec was founded to introduce Israeli films, film makers, and daily life in Israel to US public. The goal is to create a community of Israeli and American films’ fans and to encourage a dialog between them. The films will be screened with English subtitles.
A guest speaker (Director, Actor, or a film professional) will discuss issues related to the film in English.
The first movie in this series is Mr. Gaga - Enter the world of Ohad Naharin, renowned choreographer and artistic director of the Batsheva Dance Company. “Mr. Gaga”, captures the elusive beauty of contemporary dance and immerses the audience in the creative process behind Batsheva’s unique performances. Using intimate rehearsal footage, extensive unseen archive materials and stunning dance sequences, acclaimed director Tomer Heymann tells the fascinating story of an artistic genius who redefined the language of modern dance. Following the film, we will have a discussion with by Eran Politzuk director of Film and Media at the Israeli consulate in New York and Saar Harrai, Executive producer Gaga USA.
Gaga Dance workshop - Join us for a unique experience of a Gaga dance workshop by Lee Sher, Choreographer of "The Band's Visit" musical and a Gaga instructor (movement will be to "The Bands Visit" musical)
No prior experience in dancing is required. Please wear comfortable clothes. Workshop is prior to the movie @ 7:00PM - 7:45PM
