Description
Please join us for IABANY's Eighth Annual Bloomsday Celebration and John Quinn Memorial Address on June 13th, 2016 at 6:30pm at the beautiful and historic Federal Hall, the site where George Washington was inaugurated as the First President of the United States, to honor James Joyce, his epic novel Ulysses, and its contribution to U.S. First Amendment jurisprudence.
We are delighted that David McCraw, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the New York Times, will be our keynote speaker, presenting an address entitled: "Two Facts Walked into a Bar…Truly True Tales of Fake News and the First Amendment in the Age of Twitter."
Mr. McCraw will be introduced by Pulitzer-winning New York Times journalist, Jim Dwyer. The presentation will be bookended by a reception with an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres, along with live traditional Irish music. This event always sells out!
Member admission is $40; non-member admission is $50. Non-members can purchase an annual membership at www.iabany.org, ($50.00), and then avail of the member admission rate of $40.00. As always, members of the judiciary are welcome as our guests.
Registration is now closed but please join the waitlist. We typically accommodate most people on our waitlist each year.
This event is kindly co-sponsored by the Irish Consulate.
