Description

Why do we do this every year? To make intercession on behalf of our city. There are many churches in Colleyville and it's very easy to all go our own way year-round, so we like to make an effort once a year, on the same week of National Day of Prayer, to gather to make intercession on behalf of our city! And we love an opportunity to meet and greet others on mission for Christ's glory in Colleyville! We will hear from our city officials and we will get to pray for them and our city's needs.

Does prayer actually work? YES! The Word of God says it does and because we believe Him at His Word, we join in to do it. Jesus relied heavily on prayer during His time on earth and Paul encourages us to do it continually.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

James 5:13-16 " Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working."

Matthew 18:18-20 "Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

1 Timothy 1:1-6 "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time."

So, Join Us! We will give thanks, we will rejoice, we will add to the prayers of the righteous being made on behalf of our city, and we will continue to see the mighty hand of God move on behalf of His people and for His glory.
