I Met All My Friends At The (Wayward) Cabaret

By Jenny

Overview

An unplugged evening of storytelling, song, comedy and sisterhood!

Join us for I Met All My Friends At The Cabaret, a heartwarming and community-focused celebration of music and comedy, where every ticket sold helps raise money for talented performers from a marginalised community.

Buy your tickets to support the launch of Wayward The Musical, a cabaret-theatre piece exploring womanhood, judgment, and defiance:

Three women find themselves in a surreal holding room: a liminal space where time has stopped but scrutiny hasn’t. They're not told why they’re there, or who’s watching, but the questions are all too familiar: Have they been nice enough? Modest enough? Nurturing enough? They already know the answer. Society has judged them, again and again, as too much or not enough.
Through a kaleidoscope of monologues and songs, the women step into a multitude of roles. Each persona offers another perspective on the ways women are policed, shamed, and misunderstood.
But what begins as confession slowly transforms into confrontation—then liberation. With sharp humour, raw vulnerability, and powerful music, Wayward becomes a theatrical act of resistance. These women may be wayward, but they’re not lost.
They’re just no longer asking for permission.

Hosted by the incomparable Jenny Is A Joke in her ridiculous blue wig, expect laughs and silliness from start to finish.

This special event brings together performers, friends, and families for an intimate, family-friendly night of live music and storytelling. The cabaret invites audiences to experience the warmth of live performance in its purest form — the sharing of voices, instruments, laughter and stories. Sprinkled with some festive magic – tis the season after all!
