I Have a Great Idea for a Book — Now what?
Fri, March 24, 2017, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM EDT
Write Directions Institute: I have a great idea for a book — Now what?
To publish a book, you first have to write one. But where do you begin? How do you channel your creativity? Organize your thoughts and notes? Find the time, energy and resources you need? Discipline yourself and maintain momentum? Stay the course when you get blocked?
This 90-minute session will answer these questions and help you develop a strategic plan to launch your book and get it into readers’ hands. You will learn to:
- Assess whether your great idea is truly great (e.g., doable, engaging, marketable)
- Determine the skills, resources, time and support system you need
- Identify inevitable pitfalls and blocks, and ways to work around them
- Develop realistic project goals and timetables to ensure you finish your book
- Maintain your momentum
