I Do What I Teach: Being a Teaching Artist online Webinar

Have you ever wanted to share your artistic discipline through teaching? Don’t know how? Don’t know where to start? Wish you knew where to find more opportunities for teaching? This webinar is for you!

Arts Corps’ Tina LaPadula will give an overview of the landscape of opportunities for teaching artists in Washington State and beyond. She will offer tips on how to get started, where to gain experience, how to get training, and how to incorporate your art practice into your teaching. This webinar is great if you’ve never taught before or if you’ve been teaching for years and would like to expand your opportunities.

Tina LaPadula

Tina LaPadula is a teaching artist and one of the founders of Seattle-based arts education organization Arts Corps (, where she is currently serving as Education Director.  Her commitment to emergent curriculum and social justice helped shape the Arts Corps philosophy. Tina has performed for theatre, film and television in Seattle, New York, London, and Pennsylvania and has taught theatre, performance and storytelling at Centrum Arts, Power of Hope, A Contemporary Theatre, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. She has facilitated experiential learning courses called “Making Student Learning Visible” through the University of Washington’s Pipeline Project, and regularly leads workshops on equity, creative habits and arts education for the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, Seattle Public Schools, School’s Out WA and various national conferences. Tina is a proud board member of the Association of Teaching Artists, Co-Founder of the Seattle Teaching Artist Network, and 1 of 4 coaches for the WA State Teaching Artist Training LAB.  She sits on the program advisory board of Bumbershoot, the Pacific Northwest’s largest music and arts festival, and serves on Seattle Public Schools’ strategic vision team for the arts, as well as Service Learning Seattle. She credits her early work at the YWCA for teaching her the fundamentals of youth care and illuminating the need for quality arts experiences for all young people.
