What is PowerBridgeNY?
NYSERDA awarded 2 Proof-of-Concept Centers (POCCs) to CUNY with NYU and to Columbia University with Brookhaven National Laboratory, Stony Brook University, and Cornell NYC Tech. PowerBridgeNY is the result of the collaboration of two of the awardee teams. The goal of PowerBridgeNY is to leverage clean energy innovations emerging from institutional research labs to create more and stronger energy businesses in New York State. The program gives grants up to $100,000 to faculty, their research associates, and graduate students to transfer clean-tech research to commercially viable prototypes. In addition to providing grants, the center helps recipients meet potential customers, partners, and investors to refine the prototype and eventually bring it to market or license it. Pre-proposals due September 30, 2014.
What is NSF I-CorpsTM?
NSF Innovation Corps (I‐Corps) provides $50,000 grants to NSF-funded researchers to identify valuable commercial applications for their technology, and offers entrepreneurial training to participating teams. The program provides research tools, skills, and resources you need to turn your research into a startup venture.
What is NYCRIN I-Corps?
The NYC Regional Innovation Node (NYCRIN) I-Corps provides a way for regional (NY, NJ, PA, CT, DE) students and faculty to participate in I-Corps training without being NSF-funded. The curriculum will closely follow that of the NSF I-Corps program and focus on commercializing research via a startup venture. This program will be free for admitted applicant teams. Application deadline is August 29, 2014.
