Description
Hyphen Hub's Salon Series brings together a global community of artists, technologists, and futurists in a casual and relaxed environment to discuss, present, and explore how emerging technologies are being applied in a range of creative fields.
For our next salon, we are presenting two short performances:
Multimedia artists Juan Cortés (also member of multimedia art collective Atractor) and Richard Garet (Contour Editions founder) will perform live together to celebrate Radio Parasites, the first publication of the year in Contour Editions by Atractor.
The second presentation features Colombian art collective Atractor who were recently commissioned to create an installation on the subject of Dark Matter by CERN -- the European Organization for Nuclear Research that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. We will hear about this project, currently touring Europe, and get a first glimpse at their latest work in progress: a collaboration with Magdalena, one of the world's most internationally renowned and sought after DJ-Producers in the Latin American techno scene.
Hyphen Hub is an organization that explores, promotes, and presents radical new visions of the future through the integration of art and emerging technologies. It produces innovative live performances, large and small scale installations, and immersive experiences where art and technology collide.
Contour Editions is a platform focused on presenting the work of contemporary artists that are exploring the various possibilities of sound and moving image. The platform makes accessible time-based works that are engaged with notions of listening, vision, media exploration, materiality, process, and concept.
